With some impressive physical tool and a name I always worried about misspelling Kelly Oubre is a prospect that Utah will take a long look at if he falls to their #12 pick.
Standing nearly 6′ 7″, with a 7’2″ wingspan and a frame that looks to fill out well, Oubre has all the physical tools you want in an NBA wing.
Oubre posses above average athleticism and quickness which, combined with his length give him a vaulted ceiling defensively.
Even though he was a streaky shooter, Oubre shot nearly 36% from three point land.
While playing only 21 minutes a game, Oubre averaged 5 rebounds and a steal per game, these numbers are elite for a wing.
Although his ceiling is incredibly high, Oubre is sushi raw. He is left hand dominant both off the dribble and at the basket, as a result his off-the-dribble game is weak.
Oubre was inconsistent on both ends and some question his effort on a night-night basis.
His basketball IQ is questionable and he is not a very willing passer.
With the potential to be a Kawhi-esque defender, Oubre could be huge for the Jazz defense.
The might be a good place for a raw player like Oubre to land because the coaching staff look like one of the better developmental staffs.
If Oubre is becomes as good of a shooter as it appears he will, he could be a huge help to the Jazz outside shooting woe’s.
Overall Oubre is very raw but could become and elite three and D type of player to help the Jazz take the next step.
